From the Acting Principal

Dear families,
Welcome to Week 6. It is hard to believe that we are already over half-way through Term 1 for this year! I am very proud to see the progress and positive learning behaviours demonstrated by our students so far this term.
A reminder that NAPLAN commences next week from Wednesday 12th March. Please see below for the NAPLAN Testing Schedule for 2025.
Importance of Student Attendance at School
We all know that consistent school attendance is essential to a student's academic success. Ensuring students attend classes regularly goes beyond just learning the curriculum. It's about fostering a strong foundation for lifelong learning, social development, and building resilience.
Research has shown that regular attendance is directly linked to higher achievement levels. Students who attend school consistently tend to have better academic performance, as they can engage fully with the learning process and participate in classroom activities. Moreover, being present in school allows students to form positive relationships with their peers and teachers, enhancing their social skills and emotional well-being.
Attendance is also crucial for developing essential life skills, such as time management, responsibility, and perseverance. By attending school regularly, students learn to manage their time effectively and understand the importance of commitment and reliability—skills that will serve them well in their future careers and personal lives.
Let's work together to ensure our students thrive by making school attendance a top priority. Every day counts!
Should you have any questions or need support, please reach out to our school staff. We're here to help every student succeed!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
Kind regards,
Mrs Osborne
Acting Principal

MacIntyre Zone Representative Sport
Congratulations to all of our students who have represented our school and the MacIntyre Zone with pride so far this year.
MacIntyre Zone Swim Team
Congratulations to Rachael Williams and Evie Douglas for being selected to represent the MacIntyre Zone at the Darling Downs Swimming Trials at Gatton yesterday.
MacIntyre Zone Netball Team
Congratulations to Pippa Draper-Garner for being selected in the MacIntyre Zone Netball team for 2025! Pippa will attend the Darling Downs trials on 1st April 2025.

Life in the Library
All students have been actively engaged in their borrowing over the last two weeks. We have been sharing read-alouds chosen by students, and stories connected to the learning focus in HaSS lessons. The library and information skills of search and locate apply to free choice books and facts, and they are an important part of lessons this term.
Please keep sharing the library books that come home each week to maximise the value they offer to your developing reader.

School Fees due
A reminder that school fees are now due. Please settle your account as soon as possible.
Some families will be receiving follow up correspondence in the coming weeks to double check their current situation or change of circumstances. Chasing up overdue fees is a very time-consuming task. Your prompt payment allows us to successfully pay for class resources and extra-curricular activities, such as school camp. It also enables us to confidently enter into the new year in a good financial position to continue to offer quality teaching and learning experience, updated facilities and desired staffing levels.
We expect some kind of regular payment commitment from all families and for debts not to be ever increasing.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact the office to make an appointment with Liv.
Students of the Week - Week 5
